You might want to look for an emerging contemporary artist by the name of Sounds of Imani. You can look at their website at www.soundsofimani.com. Their song entitled "Everybody" is cool. |

Hey, check out the new release by Doris Stokes. I'm not sure if you're familiar with Rodney Posey and Praise or not out of Cincinnati, but she is one of the members of that group.
I went to cdbaby.com/dorisstokes to listen to her CD and I think it is VERY promising. I love the vocal style, lyrical content and music production.
I'm with you, as much as I really love the "staples" in gospel music (Fred H., Donnie M., Vickie W., Mary Mary, etc.) I'm ALWAYS looking to hear from some new artists.
I think that's why I can appreciate websites who are committed to trying to promote new talent. Nothing against the previous mentioned, they are blessed, but there are SOOOOO many others out there that are anointed and should be given a chance to be showcased!

Hey! I agree with you Unknown Psalmist, there are so many Christian artists out there. It's a shame that it's so hard to get airplay for local artists. I agree there need to be more showcases open to emerging gospel artists. If anyone's going to be in Detroit, MI anytime soon, I hear that Sounds of Imani will be performing at Universal Mall, 28582 Dequindre Road, in Warren Michigan.
You have to see this band live!

Well from the Bay Area of Oakland California you can keep a look out for Chris Fields and also a youth Choir called the Inner-City Youth Choir. I have seen this people perform. All I have to say is WOW Chris is so anoited and energetic the boy is awesome. And the Inner-City Youth Choir are off the Hook they sing from the heart and soul. So I would keep a look out for them because I feel that Chris will be the next big gospel artist out of Oakland and the Inner-City Youth Choir will have great success.

There is this hot artist out of Kalamazoo, MI name Robert Hawkins & Unified Praise. They wrecked Bobby Jones Gospel show back in the summer '04. A different sound thats definitely needed in gospel music. His e-mail address on his card, if its still the same is rhawkinsup2004@yahoo.com
